GREENECK EARTHWORKS: BIODIESEL HEROES
Fresh From BD Conference in Orlando

Joe Montesano and Pete Linville of Greeneck Earthworks in Driggs attended the National Biodiesel Conference in Orlando in February with the help of a scholarship awarded by our coalition and the cooperation of the National Biodiesel Board.

According to Joe, "It was beyond educational and answered so many questions we have had.  Even though we have been running biodiesel for a year, there is so much to know in order to protect investments and time."

We will discuss once again offering scholarship assistance to next year's conference at our Annual Meeting on June 5th and will hear a report from Greeneck.

BIODIESEL PRICES (!)
What's Happening?

For many likely reasons--including the declining value of the dollar, seasonality factors, competing with corn for cropland, commodities markets--the price of biodiesel recently spiked above the cost of regular diesel.  Dan Alexander of Story Distributing says he saw a similar spike in ethanol about a year ago and advises hanging on until the market settles down.  Remember the lubricity and emissions benefits of biodiesel have value for your vehicle, too.

Does 2008 feel like a pivotal year to you?  It does to us in so many ways.  Should I still be shoveling snow in April?  Your comments are always welcome!

Sincerely,

Sandy Shuptrine
